Welcome Back to the New School Year!

Many think that being a teacher is the easiest job in the world, but it is not. It takes a lot of time, patience, and understanding to work with children. In school, they prepare how to teach, but there is never a class on what to expect on your first day in the classroom. As educator's we must show the students that they can do it even if it takes them a little bit more time than the other students. They are all special and have their own talents that are waiting to be discovered.

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. - Albert Einstein

About Me

My name is Marcela Tovar. I was born and raised in El Paso, TX. Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher. Although, teaching wasn't my first choice as a carreer, I have found it a joy to work with kids. They are truly amazing human beings, and they continue to fascinate me everyday of my carreer. I hope to make a difference in the world, and plan to do so with the younger generation. I graduated from El Paso Community College in 2011, with an Associate of Arts in General Studies. I then continued my educational journey to the University of Texas at El Paso where I recieved my Bachelor's of Education.

My Philosophy

I believe that teaching should be fun and entertaining for children. They should interact with one their peers another and try to relate to the inforatiom that has been given to them, you learn best from your peers. I am currently an AVID tutor at a middle school, and I see my philosphy take place everyday in the classroom. I am only there to help mentor and guide them in the right dircetion. People underestimate their abilites as children, and so do they, but if you really watched them you can see that they really do understand the material, some just need an extra push or some more help. That is where I come in. During tutorials, students come in with a question and ask for help, I have refrained myself from answering their question, but instead asking them to ask their peers, because there is always at least one student that understands the material that can help them.
